Guria Ghar An Urdu adaption of Henrik Ibsen’s “A Doll’s House” produced and directed by Samina Ahmed was arranged in collaboration with the Lahore Arts Council, specifically for the conference participants. The theme of the turn of the century play, centred around the Nora (played by Samina Peerzada) an obedient and frivolous wife of a reputed banker (Farooq Zamir) who is willing to sacrifice, at any length, to preserve harmony and peace in the family. However, Nora realizes that this role-playing is not conducive, not honest and exchanges her domestic comforts for a strenuous but independent life.

Some 480 people came to see the play, despite the fact that this production had been staged once before in Lahore.
